Make Your Own Zombie Survival Kit

Oh no Zombies are coming! What do you do? Are you prepared? Do you have a Zombie survival kit? No well what are you waiting for get to work!

There are three types of kits

Stashes: A stash is a large collection of hoarded food and supplies usually set up for long term use under siege situations.

Mini Kit: Mini kits hold basic supplies and are designed to fit in small places such as a motor vehicle.

Bug Out Kit: Bug-out kits are portable survival kits also known as "Personal Emergency Relocation Kits"; these are used for quick escape and survival for a few days. Bug-out kits usually also contain tools that aid in gathering resources for more prolonged times after limited supplies run out.

First you need to decide what kind of kit you need. How much food and water you will need, what type of tools, where would you go if things got really bad. This is just like any emergency kit you gotta be prepared! Think of any situation that could happen and consider preparation for the most probable dangers. Every situation is different for everyone and kits can be modified for specific purposes.

Your best bet is to have a smaller kit in your car, and a bigger kit at home so no matter what your ready!

Basic Things you will need

Water, one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation

Food at least 3 days worth (non-perishable)

Can opener

A radio (must be battery powered or crank powered)

Flash light

Batteries

First Aid Kit (band aids, gauze, medical tape, anti-bacterial cream)

A whistle

Dust Mask

Duct Tape

Plastic Sheeting (to block in shelter)

Garbage bags

Baby Wipes

Small tool kit (hammer, wrench, screw driver, some nails and screws)

Maps of the area

Now depending on your situation, and whose in your family you might also want to include

Medication

baby items

Pet items

Important documents in a water proof box

Cash

Blankets and pillows

Change of clothes (warm and cooler clothes)

Household chlorine bleach and medicine dropper – When diluted nine parts water to one part bleach, bleach can be used as a disinfectant. Or in an emergency, you can use it to treat water by using 16 drops of regular household liquid bleach per gallon of water. Do not use scented, color safe or bleaches with added cleaners.

Matches in a waterproof container

Personal Hygiene items

Mess kits, paper cups, plates and plastic utensils, paper towels

Paper and pencils

Books, games, puzzles or other activities for children

So that's your basic kit info and its good for any emergency situation, but here's the big difference for a Zombie kit you need weapons!! So what kind of weapons?

Types of weapons you could include

Blunt weapons: sticks, bats, hammers, clubs, the back side of a fire extinguisher, ect

Flexible weapons: ropes, chains, cables, hoses, ect

Edged Weapons: knives, swords, axes, sharp broken piece of glass, ect

Complex melee weapons: power drills, weed wacker, the ever popular chainsaw, ect

Combination melee weapons : these are a bit more complex weapons.. For example the kusarigama is a Japanese tool used by farmers has a chain or rope connecting a small sickle or kama to a weighted ring or stone

Throwing Weapons: stones, knives shuriken, anything you can pick up.

Cord Weapons: slingshots, bows and crossbows, hand bow, giant human sling, ect

Guns..

DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE WITHOUT PROPER TRAINING AND DO NOT LET CHILDREN PLAY WITH WEAPONS!!

Remember the most important thing is to keep your family safe, specially children.. zombies love children brains.. they taste like candy!

Zombie Finger Cookies ~ Recipe

Ingredients

1cup Sugar

1cup butter (at room temp)

1 egg

2 teaspoons Vanilla extract

2 3/4cup flour

1 teaspoon Baking Powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2cup Raw pumpkin seeds (1 per cookie)

Directions

1. Mix butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until completely combined.

2. Combine dry ingredients in a seperate bowl (except pumpkin seeds) and combine with butter mixture.

3. Refrigerate dough for at least a half hour.

4. When you are ready to make the cookies, preheat oven to 300. Grease a cookie sheet.

5. Form dough into thin rolls. They don't have to be even - crooked fingers are creepy. Don't flatten them too much.

6. Press a pumpkin seed into one end of the cookie. Press horizontally towards the other end a bit so it sticks well and sinks into the nail bed like a real nail. You can either press a fork across the finger to create knuckles, or press the tines of the fork into the finger to create little holes.

7. If yours are thin (1/3 inch), bake for about 10 minutes or until just slightly browned. If yours are a lot thicker, bake up to 20 minutes.

Wrap Me Skinny ~ Ultimate Body Wrap ~ Review and Giveaway

44.5, 52, 49.5 ... Not numbers I'm happy to share, if your wondering what importance those numbers have that would be my measurements of my tummy before I applied the ultimate body wrap I was given. I had been hearing about these supposedly miraculous wraps and I was highly suspicious, I mean I was brought up in a world where inches don't come off unless your sweating, and eating a strict diet. I had heard one too many fad "diets", and weight loss crazes to not raise my eyebrow, but I thought well it cant help. So I approached Wrap Me Skinny's page owner Shelby Bowman who sells the product and asked if she would like me to review one, and she was all for it!

I will admit when I got it I was unimpressed it looked liked a wet folded slightly rumpled napkin in a plastic baggy. I think I forgot the rule of dont judge a book by its cover or in this case a product by its lack of flashiness. So I opened it and realised I was about to feel like a dork, its literally this giant peice of really thin disposable cloth like material, and not only did I have to wear it I had to take pictures and show them to you! What was I thinking!?! I literally had to tell my self to suck it up and apply. So I and quickly realised I forgot to take a before picture so instead you get to see my fat belly with the product.

Automatically I thought oh my its cold! It kinda felt like the muscle relaxer cream that makes your skin cold and tingly. I went ahead and used my tummy belt to hold it in place (since I didnt want to seran wrap myself and it held it tight), and preceeded to chill with it on.Thats it I just left it on no work! The results after removal 43.5, 51, 48.5! Thats a whole inch from each section, and I could see a bit of a difference in the smoothness of my skin as well. Now the cool part the product continues to work for the next 72 hours, so its been 48 hours and I just measured myself again are you ready for this? 41, 50, 47 those are real legit chubby girl numbers! Isnt that crazy! That is 3.5 inches off from 3 inches above my naval, 2.5 inchesd from 3 inches below my naval, and 2.5 inches off from the measurement at my naval! Im in shock. I love this product its easy it felt very refreshing on my skin, in fact I would love to use it during summer I could cool off and lose inches lol.

Check it out! I couldnt even fit in these jeans before the wrap, they are still a bit snug but hey I still have 1 more day! I also love how it smoothed out my skin, I was starting to get that icky fat where you have rolls in your stomach, and it helped with that as you can see.

Beauticontrol Review and Giveaway

Lets face the number of hours I spend online between running TCF, BTSF, blogging, and the 50 billion other things I end up doing online, I can usually be found in a pair of sweats, a baggy shirt, and with my hair in a messy bun. I love to dress up, get manicures, wear make up, but like many of you with my life its just not something thats worth the time and effort. However you know Im an advocate for me time, so when a lovely beauticontrol consultant Amy offered to send me beauticontrol items I figured why not I could use a little me time. I got a lovely box of goodies, and she really matched me perfectly! Plus she included some school supplies for our charity which I really thought was sweet.

So what did I get?

Last Christmas bemoaning my dry, ashy hands I was encouraged to try an amazing product called Instant Manicure, Amy was more than kind enough to send me a jar and I love love it, it is a lovely sea scrub with natural oils in it. The great thing is I can have it sitting by my sink and I use a little once a day (sometimes twice if ive been working in the yard to help get my hands extra clean) and I end up with soft hydrated hands. The only downfall is that sometimes your hands will feel a little over oily after washing but I found that after drying them the towel takes out a good amount of the extra oils and then I just rubbed in the rest.

I also got awaken body wash, and lotion.. see Amy is fabo is matching people. This stuff is very refreshing, in fact some days Ill wash my hands with it just to smell it. My boy friend has gotten a kick out of me with the lotion cause Ill rub a dab of it right under my ears, like its perfume, just so that I can have the smell surrounding me. Downfall on this one? Keep a close eye on it, my boyfriends brothers tried to walk off with the body wash.

Finally I got a thermal face scrub. I will admit this one isnt so much for me. Its really nice and my boyfriend loves it, but I prefer a less abrassive scrub, and this one was a bit rough for me. It warmed up nicely, it smelled wonderful, its just not my cup o' tea. The fact is that with any skin care product you have to match up with you, and Im just a bit too finicky about face scrubs.. I blame my fair skin and the fact that abrassive scrubs make me blotchy. Like I said though my BF loves it, his take is if you want to get a good scrub this is awesome.

"I'm a stay at home mom. I have 4 kids ages 6 and under. I got into the business after loosing a daughter and my mom + dad in a 10 months span. Money Saving Monday ~ Gift Closet

As a kid, when I needed a present for a birthday, my mom wouldn't take me to the store- she took me to her bedroom closet. Inside was a little bit of everything. The “gift closet” was full of things she got on clearance for all occasions: weddings, birthdays, baby showers, whatever we needed, it was probably in there. This is one thing that I have slowly begun to imitate, because I remember how easy it was for her, especially in last-minute rushes.

Here's my gift “closet” (it actually all fits in a box in my garage, but that's beside the point. Some of these things already have homes- a pretty lighthouse picture as a Mother's Day present for my mother-in-law, a kid's devotional book for my niece’s birthday in November, some felt food for my daughter's birthday in July. Some of these presents have yet to find their lovely homes- baby items for a boy or a girl or a surprise, wedding gifts like picture frames and cutting boards and a- eek!- Kama Sutra book, I have no idea if I'll ever have the guts to give it as a gift!

These are items that I've found on clearance at the store, or online, or I've gotten for free in contests. The pillow I made, as well as a stuffed dinosaur, also for my niece, that my daughter is playing with right now. I dug through this box for a birthday party just yesterday, I had a dress and a puzzle for her, and I bought her a backpack that she loved. This saves me time and money because I have the opportunity to shop around instead of having to go out and pay full-price for whatever I need at that exact moment.

Edible Eye Balls ~ Recipe

Prep Time - 5-10 min

Freeze time: 3 hours

Total Time: 3 hours 15 min.

Ingredients

3.4-ounce box vanilla pudding mix

Jelly Beans

Life Savor Gummy Candies

2 empty egg cartons

Plastic Eggs (from Easter)

Directions

1. Prepare the pudding according to the package directions. For each eye, fit a jelly bean into the center of a LifeSavers Gummies candy and place it in a plastic egg half.

2. Fill the egg cup with the pudding, then place the egg halves in an egg carton in the freezer until they're firm (about 3 hours).

3. Remove the egg halves from the freezer and let them sit at room temperature for about 3 to 5 minutes.

4. With the back of a fork, gently press down on the edge of the pudding, rolling the frozen ball out of the egg cup. If you're not serving them right away, place the eyes in a freezer-safe dish in the freezer until you're ready.

How to make a Tombstone

Every Zombie needs a grave to rise from! We found this fun and easy tombstone craft, so that you can make your own tombstone to rise from!.

Materials

Styrofoam sheet (20x40)
Craft Spray Paint (Grey)
Acrylic Paints (Black and White)
Sea Sponge
Carving Tool (Woodburning tool and/or knife)
Black Marker
24" of Dowel or Bamboo stick

Directions

1. Draw the outline of your tombstone in the desired shape and size.

2. Draw your lettering and any design that you would like carved and then trace over your markings with a woodburning tool or gently cut along the outline of your lettering with a knife and dig small pieces out evenly to form your engraving. If you use a woodburning tool, be sure to work in a well ventilated area!

3. Once your design is carved and you're happy with it, spray paint your entire stone with grey spray paint and allow the paint to dry completely.

4. Using a puddle of white and a separate puddle of black paint, dip a sea sponge first in the white paint and then in the black paint. Blot the excess paint just once on a paper towel and begin blotting patches over the entire grey painted surface of your tombstone. This will create the effect of stone. Continue applying this mixture of paint until the entire stone has been marked with this paint mixture.

5. With a paintbrush, fill in all of the carved areas using black paint. To make these stones stand in the ground, push about five inches of the dowel up through the bottom of the stone, being extra careful to go straight through the centre of the foam. The remaining length of dowel will be pushed through the ground, hold the dowels as far as you can while pushing the dowel into the ground and then for the final few inches of dowel remaining, gently push from the top of the tombstone, straight into the ground. The remaining few inches will be pushed through the foam and the ground.

If you have a place that offers a little back support to the stone, such as a tree or shrub, place your stone in front for the extra support.
