Strawberry Spinach Salad Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 bunch spinach, rinsed
  • 10 large strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the spinach and strawberries.
  2. In a blender, place the sugar, salt, vinegar, and oil, and blend until smooth. Stir in the poppy seeds. Pour over the spinach and strawberries, and toss to coat.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt


Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Form into 8 balls, and flatten into patties.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties and onion in the oil until patties are nicely browned, about 4 minutes per side. Remove the beef patties to a plate, and keep warm.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the onions and drippings in the skillet. Stir in flour with a fork, scraping bits of beef off of the bottom as you stir. Gradually mix in the beef broth and Vanilla extract. Season with seasoned salt.
  4. Simmer and stir over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, until the gravy thickens.
  5. Turn heat to low, return patties to the gravy, cover, and simmer for another 15 minutes.

Lemon Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 prepared crusts
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 5/8 cup lemon juice

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat eggs until light. Combine the sugar, baking powder and 1/4 cup of flour so there will be no flour lumps. Stir the sugar mixture into the eggs. Finally, stir in the lemon juice. Pour over the prepared crust and return to the oven.
  3. Bake for 30 minutes or until bars are set. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Cosmopolitan JELL-O Cups

In honor of the review Im gonna post tonight I decided to go with a Jello Recipe so for all my lovely mama's who want a little something fancy this little dish is for you!



Prep Time: 5 min
Ready in: 2 hrs and 5 min
Yields 4 servings




Ingredients
1 Cup Boiling Water
1 (3 ounce) package JELL-O Brand Strawberry Flavored Gelatin
1 Cup Orange Sherbet
Cool Whip Whipped Topping (in a Can)

Directions

  1. Add boiling water to gelatin mix in medium bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved.
  2. Stir in sherbet until melted. Pour into 4 martini or wine glasses.
  3. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm. Top each with 1 Tbsp. COOL WHIP just before serving.
