Until I met my friend Wendy my awareness of Autism was limited to a few health, and early childhood education classes. I was far from aware, but then I met Wendy and her son Travis, this amazing boy who was sweet as a button, and I didnt really get it, he seemed so normal, dont get me wrong Im not saying he shouldn't have, but I had been taught the extremes, the worse case scenerio, its kinda sad actually what we were taught, it was like they wanted us to see these kids a something other than children who just wanted and needed love. When I heard about Light it Up Blue, I knew I needed to post about it, for Travis, for Wendy, for all of the parents and children who have Autism, but most of all for all the people who dont know the truth about Autistic kids.
What is light it up blue?
On the evenings of April 1 and 2, 2011, prominent buildings across North America and the world — including the Empire State Building in New York City and the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada — will turn their lights blue to raise awareness for autism and to commemorate World Autism Awareness Day on Saturday, April 2.
We’re aiming to light the world blue all throughout April — city by city, town by town — by taking action to raise autism awareness in our communities.

Wendy sent me this amazing video, I would really like you to watch it, something about it really just took my breath away, and the solo singer has an amazing voice!
I have a special picture I made for Light it Up Blue I will be sharing later, until then please spread the word and light it up blue, remember Autism does not make anyone less, it only means they have one more hurdle to jump to show you just how amazing they are.
